What information do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring with you all of your medications and their dosages including any over the counter medications you are currently taking. Please print out the new patient forms on this website and bring them with you filled out to your appointment along with a copy of your insurance card and photo ID. 

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, some of our providers are accepting new patients. Please verify with your insurance company that we are contracted with as an in-network provider.

How do I get blood or test results?

Your lab results are automatically posted onto My UNC Chart upon being resulted.

Why do some patients get called back before me when I am in the waiting room first?

Our providers’ schedules vary depending on the patients that they are seeing. Sometimes there are in-office emergencies that cause unpredictable delays in your provider’s schedule.

What is the best way to get a prescription refilled?

Boylan Healthcare writes prescriptions to cover each patient’s needs until the patient’s next scheduled appointment. Please be sure to schedule an appointment before your medication runs out.  In the event that you have not scheduled an appointment and are low on your medication, please call our office at (919) 781-9650 and press option 4 for your provider’s triage nurse.

Why must I sign forms before anyone from Boylan Healthcare can talk to anyone in my family about my care?

Boylan Healthcare takes all precautions to keep your healthcare information private. We want to make sure that you are in control of who has access to ensure that your information stays protected.

If I leave a message when will the nurse call me back?

Please remember the physicians and nurses are seeing scheduled patients throughout the day and it may take some time before a return call can be made. The office functions with a timely and efficient message system so it is not necessary to make repeat phone calls to the office during the course of the day. Calls received in our office after 3 p.m. may not be returned until the following business day.

What if I have a problem and my physician is out of the office at a meeting or is on vacation?

During business hours, we will always have a physician covering provider who will field emergency phone calls from patients and health care providers. After hours or on weekends, the provider on call will help you.

What do I do if I need to speak to my physician after office hours or on the weekends or holidays?

There is a provider on call for Boylan Healthcare every weekday evening, weekend, and holiday. If you have an emergency that cannot wait until routine business hours, you can call our main line at 919-781-9650 and follow the prompts for the on call doctor. This is not to be used for routine medication refills or to cancel or make an appointment.
