The practice continued to grow to six physicians and in 1995 was bought by Rex Healthcare. The office was renovated and expanded in 1996. Two more physicians and one mid-level provider were added by 1999 to help see the increasing number of patients. Boylan Internal Medicine, a division of Rex Healthcare, employed thirty staff members to support the nine providers. In January 2002, the physicians resumed ownership of the practice, renaming it Boylan Medical Associates. In April 2003, Dr. Gaddy retired. In December 2006, Boylan Medical Associates opened a second location in North Raleigh in the Health Park to meet the needs of healthcare in that area. Then, in June 2008, Boylan Medical Associates shortened their name to Boylan Healthcare and redesigned their logo and website to reflect the changing times and increase in internet-driven technology. On January 1, 2011, Boylan Healthcare joined the UNC Physicians Network (UNCPN). UNCPN is a joint effort of Rex Healthcare and UNC Health Care to operate a regional network of physicians to expand the system’s ability to support the evolving health care needs of the region. With the transition to UNCPN, Boylan Healthcare has the ability to coordinate with the health care system’s electronic medical records and has access to operational support. Today, Boylan Healthcare is a thriving practice with two offices and eleven board-certified physicians. We employ over thirty-five staff members and offer an impressive array of on-site services to our patients. In 2007, we received American Heart Association ASA/NCQA and NCQA/ADA Diabetes Physician recognitions, as well as became accredited in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
